The 16th Macau Food Festival


       The 16th Macau Food Festival is going to be convened at Sai Van Lake Square from 11th to 27th November 2016.  Over hundreds of local food merchants will participate in the events to bring out the unique food culture of Macau.  In these seventeen days Festival, we surely will bring you a wonderful carnival with full of fun and delicacies.

       The Macau Food Festival is organized by The United Association of Food and Beverage Merchants of Macao, co-organized by Macau Restaurant Workers' Union, Associação de Cozinheiros de Culinária Chinesa de Macau, Associação de Empregados de Restaurantes Padarias de Macau, Macau Journalists Association, and with the support of Macao Government Tourism Office, Macao Foundation, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, and the Environmental Protection Bureau.  With the slogan “Superchef! Eat Smart – Smart Generation” of this year, we bring out the theme of reducing food waste at source.  

       This year the Organizing Committee has gathered 120 local restaurants and invited 26 food and beverage merchants from Malaysia to join the event.  A Malaysian Village will be built at the lower level of Sai Van Lake Square, in which the participants will present the authentic Malaysian delicacies and give the residents and tourists an extraordinary experience.

       Moreover, under the great support of Macao Government Tourism Office, the Committee has specially invited four food merchants from Shunde to the Festival.  As being the member of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) and Creative City of Gastronomy, the food merchants from Shunde certainly will give you the exceptional taste of Cantonese cuisine.

       To enliven the atmosphere, there are special programs every night during the Festival.  Moreover, a lot of game booths will be set up on-site with attractive prizes to create a slave of pleasure and wonderful carnival time.  To make the Festival even better, the Macau Government Tourist Office will arrange two fireworks display at 9p.m. on 12th & 20th November.
