Apply now for the Catering Industry Food Safety Symposium
[Macau Daily] To strengthen the awareness of food safety and environmental hygiene of the catering industry in Macau, the Official Provisional Municipal Council of Macau (IACM) will hold the “Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene Symposium of the Catering Industry” at the Auditorium, 3/F, Service Centre of Macao SAR, Rua Nova da Areia Preta on June 22 at 3 pm. Macao restaurant owners and industry professionals are welcomed to apply to have a thorough understanding on food safety and environmental hygiene problems.
Food-borne diseases and gastrointestinal diseases are usually more common in summer. Poor storage method in hot and humid weather will encourage the bacteria growth in food. The catering professionals must have a strict monitor system in processing, storage, display and delivery of foods.
The Centre for Food Safety and the Environmental Hygiene and Licensing Department of IACM will introduce the importance of food safety in summer, maintenance of operating equipment and the prevention and treatment of rodents. The officials will also further explain the common environmental hygiene issues and the details on license renewal. The government hopes to provide information and opportunities for catering industry to improve management skills to safeguard Macau food safety.
In addition to the participation of the members of the United Association of Food and Beverage Merchants of Macau, Association of Macau Small and Medium Catering Industry, Macao Catering Industry Merchants Association, and Macau Cuisine Association, we also welcome other restaurant owners to participate.
